About the piece
This is the very first painting ever that Martin has decided to paint over. It is sort of an ode to letting go, an ode against hoarding and also an ode to sustainability and reusing of materials.
In the painting Martin made sure to not only preserve the bumps and protrusions of the original painting but to utilise them in the new painting’s concept. The final painting too is a raw painted over image wiping out what was beneath it whilst admiting the original structure of what ones was.
